Alumni Program

Want to be connected on a deeper level?  Then say yes to joining the Alumni Program! Although we have more than 1000 students who have completed the Leadership Minor, about 200 students have chosen to stay connected, and that number is rising rapidly. Joining the program is simply an invitation to stay in communication, be invited to events and occasionally gather for 1-1s with other like-minded people.  There is no cost to being in the program and your commitment is as big or small as you would like it to be. Join here!

Other ways to get involved:

Join Our Facebook & LinkedIn Groups:

  • Our Alumni Program has a Facebook group where we have information about upcoming events and meetings.  It’s also a great place to ask questions or share resources. You can join our Facebook group here and our LinkedIn group here. Please know these are private groups and it may take a day or two for an administrator to approve you.

Schedule a 1-1 with David Hellstrom, Alumni Director:

  • Relationships are the currency of power! There are very few things David loves more than connecting with our Alumni in a 1-1 meeting. Email David at hells001@umn.edu to set up a time and way to connect. David would love to connect either in person or over zoom!

Upcoming Events:

  • Clubs:
    • Welcome to Walking Club/Talking Club.  This event happens the first Thursday of every month and rotates between a live event (Walking Club) gathering at an outdoor park/lake  and a virtual gathering (Talking Club) where we will connect on Zoom and then do 1-1 breakouts together.

    • Talking club: Thursday, December 2nd 6:00-7:15pm CST

      • Our first event is virtual - so anyone with the time and energy to do so can attend. Please RSVP if you are planning to come using this Eventbrite Link!
    • Walking Club: Thursday, January 6th 5:30-7:00pm CST
      • We will gather at Boom Island Park (look for us by the covered picnic tables) and spend a little time as a group before picking a partner and taking a walk.  Who knows what the weather will be like so dress appropriately for our outdoor time! Eventually we hope to start creating Walking Clubs in cities across the country (and world), but we will start here in the Twin Cities this January 2nd. Please RSVP if you are planning to come using this Eventbrite Link!
