University of Minnesota Internship Program in New York City or San Francisco

When: June 11th-August 2nd, 2018.

Cost: Approximately $6225 USD (includes course tuition, airfare, airport/housing transfer, housing, internship placement process, orientation, cultural and professional activities, and program support. Does not include food or public transportation while in NYC or San Francisco).

16 students for each location. 8 spots are reserved for domestic students and 8 spots are reserved for international students. Applications will be open until the spots fill.

Application Deadlines: The priority deadline is October 31, 2017.

Final Deadlines: Applications will continue to be accepted until seats are filled, through January 29, 2018.

What is it?

New York City: The New York City Internship is a chance for you to expand your professional boundaries while continuing your Leadership Minor. Students are placed in internships that match their academic interests, providing the valuable hands-on experience that makes a résumé stand out. Along with the work students will be doing at their respective companies, they will also be doing classroom work to complete their Field Experience, which is the third Leadership Minor core course. The NYC internship is an incredible opportunity for professional growth, cultural immersion, and leadership development.

San Francisco: Experience the dynamic interplay of a vibrant financial and cultural hub in the midst of a laid-back west coast lifestyle in the Bay Area during this 6-week internship in San Francisco. Explore the diversity of the area: from world-class museums and concert halls to the Fisherman’s Wharf.This course fulfills the Field Experience course requirement and the electives requirement for the Leadership Minor.

Who is eligible?

Juniors and Seniors are preferred, but Sophomores will be considered as well. Program spots will be reserved for international students.
