One of my greatest joys as a parent is engaging in conversations with my daughter similar to those I would have with students in the classroom. I am constantly reminded of the relevance of the Leadership Minor curriculum to daily life, particularly parenting, and challenged to continually grow in my own leadership. I am grateful daily of how openly and honestly my now 6 year old will share her thoughts, opinions, and questions. And, I am very conscious that my reactions to her may limit what she will choose to share in the future. I walked this edge recently during a conversation about race.
